Truety Indoor Gateway - Installation Guide

Enterprise Gateway Quick Reference Guide

1.      Install the Gateway
  1. Mount the gateway on a flat surface with M3 screws with 2.4” center spacing, leaving the screw heads protruding with a 3 mm gap from the wall surface
  2. Connect the LoRaWAN antenna to the Gateway
  3. Use the DC power supply provided with the gateway to power up the Gateway
  4. Use the Ethernet port to connect the gateway to the internet
2.      Check if the gateway is online
(It can take up to 5 minutes for the gateway to power up and connect to the server)
  1. Navigate to portal.truety.com and login. If you do not have an account, you will need to register at portal.truety.com/register – you will need to be granted access to your project by an existing user to proceed beyond this step
  2. Select the “Gateways” option on the left menu
  3. The status of all gateways accessible to your account is displayed here and updated in real-time. The “Last Uplink” field will indicate when the Truety system last received data from your gateway(s)

Mounting

The gateway must be orientated as indicated below for the strongest possible GPS Reception.

Do not cover the Gateway or in any way obstruct airflow through the enclosure openings.

Truety Mobile App

Navigate to the Gateways menu in the app and check the status of the Gateway. If the Gateway is not online, check the following:
  1. Power to the Gateway
  2. Connection of the antenna (make sure that the antenna is connected to the LoRaWAN port, not cellular)
  3. Cellular reception at the Gateway location
  4. 5 minutes past since the power up. It can take up to 5 minutes for the Gateway to fully boot and establish communication with the LoRaWAN Network Server
Green dot indicates that the Gateway is online and has communicated in past 5 minutes

Key Considerations

  1. Truety Indoor Gateway is intended for indoor use only.
  2. All installation practices must be in accordance with the local and national electrical codes.
  3. Do not work on the system during periods of lightning activity.
  4. Ensure that the Truety Indoor Gateway is secured to eliminate any physical hazard to people or property. The Gateway must be securely mounted according to the mounting instructions prior to any cable connection and operation.
  5. Truety Indoor Gateway does not contain a power disconnection device; a readily accessible disconnection device must be incorporated external to the Truety Indoor Gateway.

Troubleshooting Tips

Some power receptacles, GFI in particular, can cause interference with radio communication. Make sure that the gateway is installed as far away as possible from these type of interference sources.

If solid red appears, that is an indication of the fault condition and requires servicing. Power cycle the Gateway, and if red light stays on, contact QMC customer support

LED is not ON, Blinking or Solid red indicate normal operation of the Indoor Gateway.

Make sure that the Indoor Gateway is not installed close to the floor. Preferred location would be eye level.
