NFC Antenna Locations on the Most Common Devices
Truety app utilizes NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to communicate with the system components. To take advantage of the effortless process of commissioning the meters on site, referred to as “Tap and Go” mobile phones must be NFC capable.
As there is a great variety of devices on the market, the location of the NFC antenna can vary between devices.
See tips below for a successful connection and resources below to locate NFC location on a device.
Make sure that the phone's NFC antenna is positioned as close as possible to the NFC antenna. On Truety devices, NFC antenna is located under the NFC logo on the face of the meter, or on the label of the communication module:
- Ensure that the NFC feature is active on your device. On most devices this setting can be found under device settings
- In some instances, cases can interfere with the NFC communications, especially cases that are equipped with a battery, or have an RFID wallet compartment
- Some phone models are region specific, so make sure that the device that is used deos indeed support NFC functionality
- Make sure that the device has up to date operating system
- Make sure that the phone is not in Airplane mode
- Make sure that the Extreme Battery Saver is not on
- Restart the device
- Contact the device manufacturer for support
Apple
To you use the NFC on iPhone, operating system must be IOS13 or higher.
All iPhone models starting with iPhone 6 and onward feature NFC technology.
Apple does not specify location of the NFC antenna on their devices; however, it is known that
most of the iPhones have their antennas placed above and to the right of the rear camera.
